How to play

How to play Math vs Zombies

  1. Pick a world. Dark City is addition, Infested City is subtraction, Into the Wild is multiplication and Time to Play is division.
  2. Choose Easy, Medium or Hard — the numbers get bigger, the zombies get faster.
  3. Zombies shuffle up the road with a sum over their heads. Type the answer on the keypad; a correct answer cures the zombie before it reaches your door.
  4. Watch for bonus zombies carrying ammo or health, and clear enough zombies to unlock the next tomb. Level 7 of every world is a boss.
  5. Open Reports from the home screen to replay the sums a player got wrong.
Inside the game

What's in Math vs Zombies

  • Four playable worlds, one per operation, each with six levels and a boss — 28 levels per difficulty, 84 in all.
  • Three difficulty bands change the number ranges, so a first-grader doing 2 + 3 and a fifth-grader doing 48 ÷ 6 play the same game.
  • Stars (0–3) are awarded on accuracy; best scores are saved on the device and the Reports screen keeps a log of wrong answers for revision.
  • Rebuilt in plain HTML5 canvas from the original Unity project, with every question set, world and boss carried over.

About Math vs Zombies

A mob of math-hating zombies is shuffling towards your door. The only cure is a correct answer — type it in fast enough and the zombie turns back into a person before it reaches you.

Math vs Zombies turns arithmetic drill into a rescue mission. Each world focuses on one operation, each level ramps the numbers up a notch, and the three difficulty settings mean a first-grader and a fifth-grader can both find their edge.

Originally a Top-20 education app in 20 countries with over 2 million downloads, Math vs Zombies now runs entirely in the browser — rebuilt in HTML5 with every world, level and question set from the original.
