We believe learning should feel like play.
TapToLearn builds educational apps that harness what kids already love — games — to teach what they need to know.
Founded on a simple belief: short attention spans and a love of games aren't problems to overcome. They're superpowers to channel. Every app we ship is designed to be picked up voluntarily, played for fun, and quietly turn into hours of practice along the way.
A decade and 36 million downloads later, the bet has held up.
What we're doing now: rebuilding the library in HTML5 so the games run free in any browser — no app store, no install. Math vs Zombies, Tiny Countries, Tiny Fractions and Grammar App are already playable; more are on the way.
Three rules every app follows
Design first
Our apps work because they put touch interaction at the center. Tap, drag, swipe — learning through doing, not reading.
Visual learning
Abstract concepts become concrete when you can see and touch them. Fractions are pies. Math is a race. Spelling is a game show.
Engagement that lasts
We make learning permanent by making it engaging. Kids practice because they want to come back — not because we asked them to.
Sixteen original titles, all ours
Every TapToLearn game was designed, drawn, scored and written in-house. Characters like Tiny the chick and the Math vs Zombies cast, the question banks, the lesson text and the music are all TapToLearn's own.
From one app to a library
- 2011
TapToLearn is founded in Pune by Roby John, Avinash Pandey and Sreejit J, with a simple bet: kids will practise anything if it's a good enough game.
- 2012–15
The library grows past 50 apps — Math vs Zombies, Tiny Countries, Tiny Fractions, Grammar App, Spelling Hero, Spell Test, Graphs, Elements, Rooster, Farmer's Market, Astro Math and more. Titles chart Top-20 in Education across 20 countries, Grammar App is picked by Apple for "New & Noteworthy", and downloads pass 36 million.
- 2026
The catalog is being rebuilt in HTML5 so every game runs free in any browser. Math vs Zombies, Tiny Countries, Tiny Fractions and Grammar App are live; Spell with Friends is next.
